ULTRA with Internal Standard Addition/Dry Purge Accessory
The Internal Standard Addition/Dry Purge (ISDP) Accessory is incorporated inside the housing of the ULTRA or ULTRA-X autosampler thus requiring no additional bench space. It comprises an air actuated rotary valve with 1 ml gas loop and is used to introduce gas phase standards to the sampling end of sorbent tubes prior to or as part of the thermal desorption process. Suitable electronically-actuated on/off solenoid valves are provided to control the flow of standard gas.
Typical internal standards comprise ppm-levels of one or more compounds that do not occur naturally (e.g. deuterated species) in a pure gas matrix.
The ISDP Accessory is recommended by many international standard methods and offers three key facilities:

Automatic addition of internal standard to sampled tubes as part of the thermal desorption process

Automatic addition of internal standard to blank tubes without subsequent desorption. Allows standard to be introduced to sorbent tubes before field sampling

Automatic dry purging of each sample tube as part of the TD process
