WORLD LEADER IN THERMAL DESORPTION TECHNOLOGY FOR GC

TT24-7 twin-trap thermal desorber

Near Real-Time monitoring of chemical warfare agents & toxic chemicalsArmy Truck

The acute toxicity of many CW agents means that near real-time (NRT) data is sometimes required to minimise risk to human health. Major installations for the destruction of CW stockpiles and sensitive civilian and military installations are key examples. Both require continuous unattended monitoring, often in more than one location, with remote access to operating conditions and analytical data from a central hub.

With twin, electrically-cooled traps operating in tandem, the Markes TT24-7 offers 100% data capture.

It is housed in a rugged, transportable frame for operation both on-site and in mobile labs. Fast sampling rates, an inert flowpath (demonstrated by the quantitative recovery of free-VX) and efficient desorption ensure optimum sensitivity.

The TT24-7 is compatible with GC, GC/MS and process MS analysers. It is also available with a sorbent tube desorption accessory for simple calibration and verification of analyte recovery. Agent-related applications include:

  • Transportable technology for deployment in mobile ‘first response’ units in the event of a chemical incident. Provides both continuous on-line monitoring and off-line desorption of hand-held tube samplers for cases where vehicular access is restricted
  • Process monitoring with real-time detectors (e.g. process MS) or GC-FPD (/MS) detection. Systems offer wide sensitivity range for compliance with both emergency levels and short-term worker exposure limits. Rapid response and no carryover ensures accurate measurement of agent levels
  • Installation with full scan GC/MS for continuous unattended monitoring of critical civilian areas for counter-terrorism. Provides enhanced detection and rapid identification of agent in the event of a chemical incident. Harnesses enhanced data processing tools to eliminate false positives.
