Materials Testing: Micro-Chamber (µ-CTE)

µ-CTE Micro-Chamber / Thermal Extraction system

Capable of handling up to 6 samples simultaneously, with analysis times from as little as 10 minutes per sample, and with no need for complex pneumatic equipment* (pumps, electronic mass flow controllers, etc.) the µ-CTE provides industry with a QA/QC compatible tool to generate data that correlates with conventional emissions test results.  It allows rapid evaluation of either bulk emissions (from several grams of material) or surface emissions (~13 cm2) and can be used at ambient or elevated temperatures (up to 120°C).

Relevant technical support publications from Markes International can be automatically downloaded from this web site (registration required).  Examples include:

  • TDTS 65 - Automating the measurement of VOCs and semi-VOCs in building materials and car trim components using direct thermal desorption
  • TDTS 67 - Using the Micro-Chamber / Thermal Extractor (µ-CTE) for testing the emission profiles of products and materials used indoors
  • TDTS 69 - The MicroChamber / Thermal Extractor - the innovative, rapid and cost effective approach for testing VOC  emissions from materials

µ-CTE shows good quantitative and qualitative correlation with conventional emission test methods
