VOCs in water and soil

Thermal desorption is often used for analysis of organics in water and soil.  Applications include:

• Solid phase micro-extraction of semi-volatiles using SPE-TD cartridges with TD-GC-MS analysis.
• Purge-and-trap of volatiles from water/soil with on-line TD-GC(-MS) analysis.
• On-line monitoring of odours in drinking or river water.

VOC-Mole soil probes offer in-situ monitoring of volatile organics in contaminated soil.  Soil probes provide a low-cost and effective tool for screening large areas of land. Applications include:

• Identifying leaks from underground fuel storage tanks.
• Monitoring fuel pipelines for early detection of leaks.
• Mapping contamination in brownfield sites.
