Building on the success of Air Server for automated on-line sampling of air/gas streams, the CIA 8 accessory connects to any Markes UNITY or ULTRA thermal desorber(TD) to provide method compliant automation for canisters, Tedlar bags and other whole air/gas containers. The CIA 8 accessory comprises an 8-channel Air Server complete with an inert thermostatted flow path, and internal standard addition as specified in US EPA Method TO-15 for volatile Air Toxics. New improved stream selection valves eliminate sample carryover even when monitoring over a wide concentration range.
Key Facts: Lower running costs: Cryogen-free operation means lower running costs and higher uptime. Best possible detection limits: Unmatched chromatographic performace (narrow peak widths), even under splitless desorption conditions and without on-column focusing, ensures optimum sensitivity and resolution. Low ppt concentrations can be reliably determined. Improved productivity: UNITY-CIA 8 systems offer unattended sequential analysis of up to 8 canisters/Tedlar bags. Extensive data shows reliable operation in remote monitoring stations over extended periods of several years. Data validity: Internal standard addition plus excellent analytical precision ensure data validity and repeatable analysis. All applications on a single platform: UNITY-CIA 8 offers quantitative and cryogen-free retention, even of ultra-volatile species such as freons and C2 hydrocarbons, together with complete recovery across the air toxics boiling range. Labile, odorous analytes, such as H2S and mercaptans may also be measured at sub-ppb concentrations. Markes systems are compatible with the highest boiling compounds that can be recovered from canisters. Compatible with humid samples: Versatile water management options and thermostatted heating of the sample flow path eliminate risk of condensation and ensure quantitative results with humid samples. EPA Method TO-17 compatible. UNITY-CIA 8 systems incorporate low-cost tube monitoring of air toxics as a complement to regular canister samples; UNITY-CIA 8 systems allow EPA Method TO-17-compliant desorption of a single sorbent tube. This tube desorption facility can be automated by adding a 100-tube ULTRA TD autosampler.
