Operations Support

Reports to: Operations Manager
Location: Sacramento, CA

ROLE DESCRIPTION

In this role you will support all our sales channels to drive the business within Markes, Inc. and ensure orders are process efficiently and accurately.

OBJECTIVES

  • Be conversant with all technical aspects of the Markes’ product portfolio and therefore support and assist the sales / distribution channels
  • Process orders efficiently and verify for accuracy
  • Knowledgeable of sales tax collection and filing
  • Communicate delivery dates to customer, sales rep and service engineers
  • Update Salesforce as outlined in procedure guides
  • Prepare units for shipment to designated locations from local stock
  • Maintain accurate physical control of stock in warehouse
  • Check inventory levels to determine availability of requested merchandise
  • Invoice accurately based on delivered product
  • Maintain clean and organized warehouse
  • Support sales team with leads and follow up in Salesforce
  • Assist with trade show coordination
  • Responsible of payment collections
  • Receive and respond to customer complaints
  • Communicate effectively with parent company

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

The successful candidate will have a strong background in order fulfillment and customer relations with an understanding of:

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Have accounting background and knowledge of SAP software
  • Have experience with international shipping and negotiating shipping rates
  • Have excellent organization and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and recognize
  • Experience with inventory management and stock controls
  • Strong team player with ability to support sales and service engineers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Senior Field Sales Engineer

Reports to: Customer Support Manager
Location: Negotiable

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This role involves service support of our entire portfolio of analytical instrumentation to our customers worldwide. You may be home based but you will be required to travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe as necessary and occasionally further overseas, potentially at short notice

OBJECTIVES

  • On-site installation, maintenance and repair of Markes’ Thermal Desorption (TD) and Time-of-Flight (TOF) Mass Spectrometers
  • On-site installation, maintenance and repair of third-party analytical products e.g. Gas Chromatography (GC) when required
  • Provision of service in accordance to customer’s entitlements (contract, warranty or channel partner assistance)
  • Documenting fully each service visit within company CRM
  • Managing escalated service situations through to completion
  • Creating strong customer links in particular key accounts
  • Reporting of field issues to product development and engineering teams as required
  • Recognition of sales opportunities following customer communication for additional instrumentation, consumables, training etc.

Required

  • a degree (or equivalent) in a Physical Science – preferably Chemistry
  • a proven track record in analytical instrument field service
  • Proven ability in problem solving following a logical approach.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Articulate in both written and verbal communications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with customers
  • Dextrous and confident with repair of mechanical instrumentation.
  • Have the ability to work independently, prioritising work and managing time efficiently.

Preferred

  • Hands on experience of GC and GC-MS equipment will be a significant advantage.

Field Sales Engineer

Reports to: Customer Support Manager
Location: Llantrisant, Wales, UK

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This role involves service support of our entire portfolio of analytical instrumentation to our customers worldwide. Although based at the Llantrisant HQ the position will require extensive travel throughout the UK and some overseas travel, potentially at short notice.
