Sampling volatile organic compounds released from packaged meat
The magazine International Meat Topics has published an article by Paul Morris and David Barden from Markes, discussing the benefits of the Easy-VOC to ‘grab-sample’ volatiles from the headspace above packaged meat. Analysis by TD–GC–MS (using Markes’ TD-100 automated thermal desorber) and data-processing with TargetView resulted in the rapid and confident identification of 46 components, including possible migrants from packaging.
