New ground-breaking ion source technology for GC–MS – Select-eV®

Markes’ new Select-eV technology allows GC–MS users to vary the energy of electron ionisation from 70 to 10 eV within a single automated sequence without loss of sensitivity.

Operating without reagents this convenient alternative to conventional soft ionisation provides an extra dimension of confidence in compound identification.

Select-eV has been developed by Markes International for their exceptional BenchTOF range of time-of-flight MS systems which offer better than quad-SIM sensitivity while retaining full-range reference quality spectra.

Select-eV technology was introduced in Europe in January of this year at the 13th International Symposium on Hyphenated Techniques in Chromatography and Separation Technology (HTC-13), where it created a lot of excitement.

See BenchTOF and Select-eV at PittCon (Booth #1519)

Markes technical specialists will be available at Pittcon from March 2-6 in Chicago (Booth # 1519) and can answer any questions you may have either on Markes' mass spectrometry or thermal desorption products.

NEW website – A valuable resource for gas chromatographers

To coincide with the advent of Select-eV, we’ve launched our new improved website, www.markes.com. Whether you are interested in Markes’ world-beating range of thermal desorption (TD) instruments or the exceptional mass spectrometry and software products previously promoted under our ALMSCO brand, the new web site makes it much easier to find what you are looking for.

With updated technical content provided by our product specialists and links to additional resources such as scientific papers, application notes, posters, videos and FAQs, we hope the new web site will become an even more valuable technical resource for thermal desorption and GC–MS users alike.

The information presented covers some of the most exciting recent developments in TD and GC–MS technology and multiple application areas – environmental , material emission testing, odour/flavour/fragrance, petrochemical, metabolomics, forensics & chemical defence, etc.

To complement the new product and technical content we’ve also updated our on-line shop for quick and convenient ordering of an extensive range of TD accessories and consumables plus leading-edge GC–MS data mining software.

Visit our new website here to see what’s on offer.
